Scalability

Nationwide Scalability
"NetExpert is the activation, design and assign, and assurance component across all our network resources and we are able to manage across multiple Element Management Systems. We have reached up to one million transactions / day. We are managing over 80,000 managed elements, over 1,400 concurrent operators, over 100,000 provisions per day, as well as customer care on-demand testing."

Testimonial: Fault Management

"We are an ILEC providing broadband access to the consumer in 29 different states. We have been using NetExpert for over 12 years to monitor alarms from all switches, 5ESS, EWSD, DMS, Fiber Terminals from Fujitsu, Lucent, Cisco, and other peripheral modules. We have written all NetExpert rulesets ourselves for fault and provisioning. All NetExpert rules and dialogs were developed by a team of three developers.

NetExpert is a framework that allows you to build network management applications. It is very flexible and allows you to interface to just about anything. If you have a command line on your network element you can interface to it. If you have a database you can connect it to NetExpert using the database.

We have been using NetExpert for over 12 years, and we are still finding new things that it can do. There is really no limit to what NetExpert can do as long as you are a little bit creative...and you think... you know that system has this kind interface...how can I get to that system through this NetExpert gateway? and soon you start using it!

NetExpert has helped us since 1996 to process the alerts to the central technician and this helps them contact field techs who fix the alarm. We've also pushed read-only alerts to the field techs which helps the field folks pull up the same alerts through a web portal.

You can also save time with NetExpert if you have automatic procedures which you can configure within NetExpert to automatically troubleshoot alarms."

The NetExpert advantage

  • Helps you manage resources quickly

NetExpert robust implementation tools help you create management applications fast, through object-oriented modeling of complex network resources, and bottom-up relationships to services and customers. NetExpert provides form-based editors (for rules and policies) to automate actions such as correlations. NetExpert also includes ready-made element interfaces and application components that automate recurring tasks.

  • Enables you to consolidate your management systems

NetExpert flexible architecture helps OSSs work together flexibly so you're free to use the best solutions and protocols for your operational needs. OSI's programmatic interfaces provide two-way links between NetExpert and any OSS to unify disparate systems.

  • Provides centralized control and a common view of your network, services, and customers

Add OSI's automated applications for managing fault, performance, configuration, processes and service levels to achieve a system that lets you monitor and control your entire network.
